Slate River Road is not for the weak of heart. It hugs the mountainside while providing a breathtaking view. The road allows for two-way traffic, but cooperation is a must. Two vehicles barely fit side-by-side, so one needs to crouch closely on the outer edge when traffic passes.
If that isn’t difficult enough, there are also rock slides and mountain streams that one must cross over.

Yep, sher is pertie up there! Sort of reminds me of Switzerland in the Summertime.

Thanks Susan, yes you are correct, we are living in a target rich environment! Target for photographers! Leadville is another favorite place of mine.

Thanks Chris, you are right, it does look like Switzerland. All we need is a pretty red train!
Chris Newell says
Or a green one – I took a train from Zurich to Zermatt a couple of years ago, and it was such a spectacular ride.
The more I look at your pics, Kristal, the more I think ‘Hmmm, Denver is only a 24-hour drive from Toronto; that’s not too far for a couple of days shooting’ and then I remember I’m no longer 25.

Chris you could take 2 days to get here…besides you have a friend in Denver!
I don’t remember the green trains in Switzerland. I do remember the red one. Either way it was (is) an awesome country.
Have you been to Norway? Colorado is Norway without the water. 🙂
