For me, Idaho Springs and an appetite means a pizza from Beau Jo’s. But as I was strolling the town waiting for my pizza I captured this charming place. It felt good. I’ll be back.
The Southeast view from the entrance to Mt. Evans seems to go on forever. I could sit here all day and shoot a different cloud formation every few minutes.
It’s a long winding road mostly up when your traveling to Mt. Evans. The view is always wonderful, no matter what the season. Today the colors were terrific.
As seen from the front steps of the Lodge. The hummingbirds must have been full, because they didn’t come by the feeder. Instead I captured this always changing always awesome scene.
The water is very high in Colorado this year. June ’09 has gone on record as being the wettest month in history. The rivers and streams are swollen and dangerous.
Horseback riders were enjoying their day as was I. Sitting on the hillside waiting for the wind to die down so I could shoot flowers, these guys came into view. I couldn’t resist.
All that’s left of the old homestead is this corral. From my perch on the hillside, there’s no trace of a house. Only this old shelter for the animals.
