This lovely Lion lives in Englewood the home of the first TOD in metro Denver. TOD being “transit oriented development.” The community replaced the old Cinderella City Mall which was torn down due to obsolescence and gave way to this bright new city scape.
The RTD Light Rail Station in Englewood is surrounded by shops, restaurants and commerce centers. Above there are living quarters, lofts and condos. A few blocks away is the old town of Englewood where age-old businesses still open each day.
One could easily live here and not own a car. I suspect this charming Donato copy of a Lion considered this fact before he relocated to Englewood!
I learned a few things here. Never heard of a TOD before and Denver is really, really changing.
