In Colorado we welcome people to our state with acres of sunflowers underneath the approach to Denver International Airport! June brings us a profusion of wonderful flowers in the gardens around Denver. This morning I spent a couple of hours all by myself photographing the colorful roses.
Poppies line many gardens this time of year. I enjoy their explosion of color and how they light up the world.

What a welcome sight for anyone traveling to Denver! The clouds obscured all but a few patches of sunlight as the dawn turned to day.
In June the Blue Lupine grow in the forest. This was taken on the west side of Cottonwood Pass where the forest was carpeted with color as far as you could see.
As a kid these big puffy weeds were always fun to spin in the wind and let the seeds fill the air, to spread more weeds over the land! When I took this picture I was delighted to see how the pattern kept repeating itself, much like a kaleidoscope.
Denver Botanic Gardens has a wonderful assortment of lovely flowers right now. I enjoy going very early in the day before the sun gets too hot! Give it a try!
