Weekends in the mountain towns of Colorado attract people. We like to escape, breathe the fresh air and take in the grandeur of those hills.
I can see forever
The Southeast view from the entrance to Mt. Evans seems to go on forever. I could sit here all day and shoot a different cloud formation every few minutes.
Squaw Pass Road Looking North
It’s a long winding road mostly up when your traveling to Mt. Evans. The view is always wonderful, no matter what the season. Today the colors were terrific.
Echo Lake
As seen from the front steps of the Lodge. The hummingbirds must have been full, because they didn’t come by the feeder. Instead I captured this always changing always awesome scene.
Exploring the old corral
All that’s left of the old homestead is this corral. From my perch on the hillside, there’s no trace of a house. Only this old shelter for the animals.
Peek-a-Boo-Peak
There is a reason ski areas get so much snow. Trouble is off-season the moisture just keeps on coming. I captured this image by chance as I noted the cloud moving in quickly over the peak. I parked my car to the side of the road, ran across the street and snapped a few shots. By the 4th shot the cloud engulfed the mountain entirely.
The curious cow was wondering why all of a sudden she was so popular. Cows aren’t accustomed to Paparazzi.
Beautiful Vistas in Douglas County
We went for a nice long walk this evening. Douglas County offers so much open space to it’s residents. The 460 acre park is home to deer and many varieties of birds we saw tonight. I bet there are many other creatures that come out at night; coyotes and wild cats.
Denver's D & F Tower
The D & F Clock Tower is where I shot the inside of the clock. I was also able to climb the stairs and view the city from the balcony above the clock. It was a fun activity on a chilly spring day in Denver.
