I love the 16th St. Mall with all the Handsome Cabs trotting up and down. I got lucky when one stopped near me. Isn’t this a wonderful winter scene?
Sunburst Arch
Sundown is a great time to go exploring the city for different angles and images. I so enjoy the Boat House at City Park for it’s interesting architecture and great views of the lake and beyond.
Navy of City Park
Not many people know Denver has a Navy. Now you do.
The Best Laid Plans
I first spotted this scene when the water was perfectly calm and peaceful. It was reflecting the pavillion in a lovely inverse.
As I walked up getting ready to capture the image, a couple with a loaf of bread also approached.
You know the rest of the story. Bread and ducks make waves. Waves mess up the calm and peaceful reflection.
Oh well.
Maybe next time.
It's True
One man’s junk is another man’s art.
That’s not exactly the saying, but it’s close enough for me. While walking by the Denver Art Museum I noticed the trash dumpster was covered in stickers that read, “Denver Art Museum.”
I found it amusing.
Simple me.
Lau Tzu
Acoma Plaza located between the Denver Library and the Art Museum is where you will find this painted steel of red angles.
One must be very patient to wait to photograph it without people. Obviously that patient person is not me!
Sundown at the Pavillion
I love the magical light that comes just before the sun falls over the horizon. The light doesn’t linger long enough at the end of day. Maybe that’s why it’s special, scarcity makes it so.
Shadows and Light
On a winter afternoon the shadows and light also means the difference between warm and cold. The last rays of sunlight warm a body, but soon the cold sets in.
Big Sweep
Art always attracts me, particularly this over-sized broom and dust pan. It’s enormous and colorful and oh so fun to shoot.
