Watching the clouds is a favorite past time in the west. The weather can be seen approaching miles away, it rolls in and out providing an entertainment of a sorts.
Lightening
While trying to position for a night skyline shot, I captured a bolt of lightening. Funny, I didn’t realize the lightening was in the photo until I got home.
Dogs of the Prairie
Yes, they are cute. They can be seen alongside the highway and in open fields everywhere. They have a chirp-like pitch sound as they chat amongst each other.
It seems one could just walk over an pet them, not advised even if they would let you get the close. I’ve heard they are somewhat blind but have a great sense of smell.
I just know when I ride by on my bike they take cover as I pass. Like a well orchestrated symphony they pop down into their holes.
Guess I smell.
Denver Nightlife
Nightlife in Denver can be found on the west side of I-25 too. Just mosey on over the pedestrian bridge, go up one block to find several outstanding restaurants, all with outdoor seating on rooftop decks.
The view of the city skyline is romantic and inspiring.
That is unless there’s lightening.
A Denver Landmark
A stately landmark that looks like something it isn’t would be the Millenium Bridge. Built to connect the city with the River Front, from afar it looks like the mast of a ship but gives us safe passage over the very busy railroad tracks below.
Sundrenched
This bucolic scene is actually wedged between Inverness Tech Center and the sprawling community of Parker. Looking at it one would think there wasn’t another soul around for miles.
Douglas County does a good job protecting open space.
Reflections of Pink
When the sunsets behind the Rocky Mountains, light reflects to the east creating very pretty skies. This shot is of the very popular Denver loft building known as The Glass House.
Living here must provide one of the best views of the Rockies and Denver city skyline offered.
Daniel's Park
Twenty-some miles south of Denver proper, is a Denver Park, Daniel’s Park. This wonderful place is situated high on a hill where buffalo still roam (albeit not freely) and the sunsets decorate the sky with a different show every night.
The best news is, the show is free.
Enjoy.
Chop House As a Neighbor
The Chop House is a great place to eat before or after taking in a game at Coors Field. Of course it’s ok to go even if you don’t partake in baseball.
I like the brick facade of the building, which also offers luxury loft homes with private elevators from the parking garage.
Hummm, living there would mean never having to cook…
